Guido and crew crush Spanish Mackerel, Mahi & Barracuda offshore!
Hot bite and happy crew! Guido and I headed out for our Half Day Fishing Trip this fall morning around early dawn with Avenger Charters. The weather started clear but was becoming cloudy in the afternoon, which actually worked in our favor. Water conditions from the South Florida Water Management District showed good clarity, and we were cruisin' the flats ready to get lines in the water offshore Miami Beach.
With our gear rigged and ready, we focused on offshore fishing using a mix of fly fishing and spinning tackle techniques. The bite was hot right from the start! Guido hooked up early with a solid Spanish Mackerel, then it was game on when we connected with a beautiful Mahi Mahi. The Great Barracuda made an awsome appearance too, giving us bent rods all morning. Miami Beach's offshore waters are perfect for this kind of action because the structure holds bait and the current brings in the pelagics. We wrapped up with tight lines and smiles all around!
